Hands Off Medicare and Social Security!
In the name of “fiscal balance,” President Obama’s Deficit Commission is pushing for cuts in Medicare and Social Security.
Join thousands of people who won’t accept cuts to Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.
Together, we say:
1. NO budget cuts, privatization or increase in age eligibility to Social Security.
Social Security has a $2.2 trillion surplus and is solvent through 2037.
2. NO budget cuts, privatization or increase in age eligibility to Medicare or Medicaid.
Medicare raises millions of seniors out of poverty.
Instead, we should:
1. Expand Medicare to all (HR 676) to achieve $400 billion in savings on administrative waste and provide health care to all.
2. Repeal the Bush tax cuts, and increase taxes on the rich by raising the limit on taxable earnings for Social Security.
3. Cut military spending.
